As a child I always had animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, goldfish and cats - but never dogs as unfortunately my dad had a fear of them. I really loved dogs so would go round to family and friends houses to walk and play with their dogs.

After completing my GCSEs I went to Brooklands College to do a Secretarial Studies Course, which I must add, was not as exciting as I imagined!

At this time I had mixed feelings on the career path that I wanted to choose. Whilst at college I decided to get a weekend job and having always had a passion for dogs I successfully applied at a kennels in Esher not knowing that in future years this was to become Royvon Dog Training Schools. I spent my Saturdays working at the kennels as a kennel hand, cleaning, feeding the dogs and cats and taking the dogs out for exercise, I really enjoyed the job and so worked at every available opportunity. After completing my college course you can imagine my excitement when I was offered a full time position. My dedication to the job took me through 15 years of employment at the kennels.

In April 2006 the owners of the kennels decided to retire and sold the business to Darren and Hannah James who refurbished the premises and reopened the business in July 2006 as Royvon Dog Training Schools. Funny as it sounds by buying the company he also 'bought me' and has been stuck with me ever since! .and so he decided to make me Manageress.

After working for Royvon for a couple of weeks in May 2006 I left on maternity leave to have my first child Kieran. In December that year I returned to Royvon to continue the career I loved so much. In 2008 I attended a Management Course and also completed an NVQ in Team Leading followed by an NVQ Apprenticeship in Customer Service. I continued as Manageress until February 2010 when I left to take maternity leave to have my second child Erin.

I returned to work in January 2011 and have now been promoted to General Manager and I have started working towards an NVQ in Management.

My role at Royvon is to oversee the other Managers and to ensure the smooth running of the business. My loyalties lie in ensuring a high standard of customer service and canine care. The team here at Royvon are dedicated and working with them is a joy as we are likeminded and caring. I have seen many changes throughout my career as we strive to continually improve.
