Royvon Merthyr Tydfil – Where the Royvon Journey Began

In 1959 our founders Roy and Yvonne purchased a small site in Merthyr Tydfil, to build a dog show kennel. They called it Royvon and the business was born! Their joint passion was German Shepherds and they were heavily involved in their showing and breeding. As the years progressed, expansion took place over a 5-acre site and Royvon Boarding and Training Kennels was born. Our current Managing Director, Darren, took over the family business at 16 and has built it into what it is today, offering the highest standard of dog boarding and training across two sites.

Over the last 60 years the facilities at Royvon Merthyr have been continually updated to exceed modern standards. We now cater for all breeds and needs, from outgoing to anxious pups. Nowadays, Royvon Merthyr remains a firm favourite! We aim to provide a home away from home for your dogs and a solution to all of your boarding and training worries. Do you worry about your dog when you travel? Not sure who you can trust when it comes to providing the best care for them? We use our 60-plus years of experience and continuous training to make sure we’re ahead of the game and provide the care you need, no matter your circumstances or dog’s needs.

Puppy training is an important part of owning a dog and with the right input in the first few weeks of having a new puppy at home, you will hopefully never need the intensity of our residential dog training programme for behavioural problems. There is a key window for training when a puppy first arrives and we work with owners to develop their ability to train their puppy alongside building a trusting and loving
relationship, full of security.
