Animal Planet's Top Dog is back for a second series and we're looking for the next generation of dogs and owners to

make this the best series yet.

Does your dog have star quality? Is your mutt the mightiest? Your canine the canniest?

This is your chance to show the world how special your dog really is!

Shauna Lowry returns as presenter and this time we're giving the second series of Animal Planet’s Top Dog a European twist. Its Eurovision meets Strictly Come Barking!

So following the enormous success of Top Dog 2007, Animal Planet are on the hunt for talented dogs and their owners to compete in Series II. Only one will emerge as Europe's mightiest mutt. It will take training and dedication, but it will be a whole lot of fun!

Each show will be a fun event consisting of five rounds –agility, obedience, temptation, doggy detective (scent test) and party tricks. Whether your pooch excels at agility, dazzles as a doggy detective, or triumphs over temptation, every dog deserves the chance to be crowned Top Dog 2008!

We’re looking for all types of dog - rescue dogs, pedigree and crossbreeds but all with that ‘X’ factor that makes them that extra bit special.

We're also keen to hear from owners who come from other parts of Europe or have roots on the Continent. Are you half Dutch with a dashing Doberman or do you know a Spaniard with a sensational Spaniel?

FURTHER INFO FOR DOGS AND OWNERS FOR ‘TOP DOG II’

• Filming will take place in August 2007 in the UK.

• The special dogs and their enthusiastic owners must be happy to appear on television.

• The winner of ‘Top Dog’ receives the coveted ‘Golden Bone’ Top Dog Trophy and the chance to show off on TV!

• If you’re willing to train hard, have a great bond with your dog and enjoy showing off their talents (we’ve previously seen skateboarding, basketball, shopping and dancing dogs!), then you need to contact us as soon as possible.

• Send in a photo of your top dog and yourself (a VHS or DVD of them training at home would be even better). Make sure you tell us why your pooch should be ‘Top Dog 2008’ and what makes them stand out from the crowd!
